Nas X

I am proud of Nas. His beginning with this “Nigger” project were working adversely against his message. Though his “I did this for controversy” presented as transparent he has been committed to utilizing this album as more than just a music release. Today Nas joined members of ColorOfChange.org & MoveOn.org to deliver over 600,000 petitions to put and end to their racist propaganda. Here he’s seen delivering a speech to the press. Click HERE to watch Nas perform “Sly Fox” on the Colbert Report, HERE to see his interview with Stephen Colbert and HERE to listen to his speech after the petitions were delivered.

I am proud to be a Nas fan again. He won me back not with just the album (which is bananas) but with his recent actions. In this day and age artists have to be more than just performers. ESPECIALLY Black artists. With Obama on the cusp of making history W.E.B. DuBois’s statement couldn’t be more real, “Everything Black people do is political.”

*And just for the record for those who wanna talk shit. I NEVER got at Nas for the album. I addressed specific situations and a specific song (that by the way ended up not making the album)

Tell it to these shorty shit stain fuck tards again.

How on earth can Lil Wayne be the best rapper alive when Nasir, Jay,3Stacks and Lupe are still breathing?? 1 million records sold in a week doesn’t mean your the best, it just means your the most popular…It also means your gonna fall the hardest, ask 50.

Good to hear u like the Nigger album Ms.Diva..(BTW, 3 Stacks aint fuckin’ with Esco)

Nas still isn’t very articulate when speaking but I applaud the man for trying. I can’t wait till that Rock The Bells tour comes through my state, I’m amped as fuck.

I don’t know. It still comes off like hes doing shit solely to promote the album. Like im not sure he would do this if his album wasn’t or didn’t come out. Still applaud for it but a mild applause

I think Nas is aiming strictly at Bill Oreally and Fox News. I’ve heard him say the Fox network has good shows but the news channel is on some BS. A reporter asked him about Myspace at the protest and he said his problem is more with the the news channel.

Either way, I can see the “Nas is a hypocrite” statements coming very soon.

Yes, Nas is putting his actions where his mouth is and speaking up and out about how crooked the world is now-a-days…and even if you didnt like the album (which you would have to be a fool, not to) you have to respect the actions and stand he is taking for the people….
