Kanye’s Hair

kanye-lead-shag.jpg

Now, normally this wouldn’t be an issue.  BUT when a Black man gets a shag aka the Black man’s mullet, I feel like folks may have a point of view about it, lol.  So!  Kanye’s been moving in a new direction for quite some time now but among ALL the “out there” things he’s said/done this hair do seems to be the most bizarre to me, lol.  What do ya’ll think!?  Does it work?  (for the record he couldn’t give TWO shits about what we think, lol, which is how ended up with a mullet in the first place!)

[Me & Mikey Rocks]

So, I spent this weekend in Chicago with Chuck & Mikey of The Cool Kids. I’m working on my mixtape, “Spandex, Rhymes, & Soul” so I went out there to record. I had a blast. They really live up to their name, lol. Cuz they are definitely cool. I walked in to the crib on Friday after a long day at the studio to an impromptu partayyy! Banana pudding being cooked, Nilla wafers on the counter, Uno & Wii and full swing, lol. Shout outs to JP @ Blended Babies Studio (he’s a GRRRREAT engineer), Rich, Tennille, AB, Angela (whom I slaughtered in a handstand contest!!!), & Shanice. I also got some great music done that I hope ya’ll enjoy. I’m not rapping as much these days but Lord willin ya’ll will feel the direction as much as I do:) Here’s some pics!

Obama Watch

 barack_obama.jpg

Cnn is saying that Obama is changing it up a lil since the campaign:

In style and substance, Barack Obama is looking like he could be a different president than the candidate voters got to know during the campaign.

“I want to be realistic here,” Obama said in an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.” “Not everything that we talked about during the campaign are we going to be able to do on the pace that we had hoped.”

During the campaign, Obama stressed fixing the economy as one of his top priorities, but his recent language has taken on an urgent tone.

Obama painted a dire picture of the economy last week, warning that if Congress does not take “dramatic action” on his economic aid package as soon as possible, the nation would face devastating long-term consequences.

“For every day we wait or point fingers or drag our feet, more Americans will lose their jobs. More families will lose their savings. More dreams will be deferred and denied. And our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse,” he said.

It’s a far cry from what voters heard from Obama the Democratic candidate, who inspired roaring crowds of thousands by telling them, “This is our moment. This is our time.”

Of course they make it sound like on the campaign trail he was Common and now he’s gonna be Suge Knight.  No dice.  The reality is that as a candidate there was theory and now as President there is reality.  I don’t really see the far cry from it being our moment or our time.  Do you?  I am glad that he is not playin games with Congress on getting the economy in some sort of upswing.  If there’s anyone who knows about finance it’s him.  How you have LEFT OVER bread after a run for the Presidency?!

Your thoughts?  You already skepties of Obama?

Put You ON! *CandiedJamz.com*

candiedjamz-blog.jpg

Ya’ll know I am ALWAYS puttin you on to dope shit. Thanks to Twitter (follow me at Twitter.com/amandadiva) I was put on to Candiedjamz.com a dope blog run by a smart, hip hop lovin, fashionista out of Dallas by way of NY. Jazmin has great fashion sense, commentary, and she’s quite the comedian she also always has a dope quote of the day. Check out our interview!

1. Web site name/ addy

My website is www.candiedjamz.com

2. What made you start ur blog?

Well, I have always seen blogs about gossip, sports, music, etc., and I felt like I wanted to start a blog about me, personally. The things that I wear, my opinions, quotes that I like, music, and videos.

3. Who do you consider your audience?

I have a lot of different people checking my blog out (which I love), I have a lot of shoe fiends, as well as friends, and strangers that just like what I’m about.

4. Some would say fashion is vain, some say its a form of expression what do you think?

I think fashion is a little of both, I love fashion, high end fashion at that, but I also like the low-end as well. Fashion is what you make it, and anybody can make it look good, with a little imagination.

5. Favorite and least favorite style of shoe?

Wow, just one? I would say an open toed slingback, and booties, and high-top sneakers, lol.

6. What do you gives you the authority to be a tastemaker?

I would say my following does, I have almost 40k views in 4 months, people always ask me about shoes, clothes, my opinions, on wardrobe changes, and I love helping, and giving suggestions to people who love style as much as I do.

7. Favorite fashionistas?

There’s actually a girl and her mother in Dallas, Jane Alridge and Judy Alridge, they have the biggest shoe collection I’ve ever seen. And their fashion sense is so hot. From Balenciaga, Chloe, Chanel, Miu Miu Givenchy, she’s OD incredible. I love Vashtie as well, she does the tom-boy look, but makes it look effortless. I also like people in the limelight, like Febe Dobson, Rihanna.

8. How do music and fashion relate?

The coincide like a marriage, fashion being the wife and music is the husband. A lot of people following music, follow their favorite artists trends, and fashion sense.

9. What are your fashion no no’s for ‘09

No skinny jeans on men, No leggings as pants (they are meant to be worn under a dress, or skirt), no extremely baggy clothes, no extremely tight clothes. Wear what you feel, but somethings should be banned.

10. How would you like to see your blog expand if at all?

I would like to see my blog expand, most definitely. If people like it, they can tell friends to tell friends, and if they don’t like it, they can tell friends to tell friends. But I honestly do what I do for me, and people just happen to dig it, which I love.

Support folks startin up and keepin up some dope shit yall! Check out more:

Dang Facebook…ain’t nothin private no mo”!

Peep this:

CANBERRA (Reuters) – Lawyers in Australia expect the internet social network site Facebook to become a new way of tracking down defendants after a landmark court ruling.

The Supreme Court in Australia’s capital Canberra has ruled that Facebook is a sufficient way of serving legal documents to defendants who cannot be found.

The case surrounded a couple who defaulted on a loan, but who couldn’t be found.

“We couldn’t find the defendants personally after many attempts so we thought we would try and find them on Facebook,” lawyer Mark McCormack said.

“We did a public search based on the email address we had and the defendants Facebook page appeared.”

He said that was enough to convince the court, which found Facebook was a sufficient way of communicating legal papers when it is the plaintiff’s responsibility to personally deliver documents.

Man, first Charles Hamilton quotes a text I sent him in confidence in a diss record, and now your facebook is up for grabs too!?  What do ya’ll think about this?
