?uesto-roo recaps part I: Roots, Super Jam, Philly Exp.
Mos Def + Hypnotic Brass Ensemble = James Brown tribute.
super jam
Follow up from the ‘Roo. ?uesto proves once again that he is the hardest working mofo in music. This is how it went down, in this order…
First up, a set of photos from The Root’s performance from Amy Whitehouse (go figure) including a few of Capt. Kirk and Tuba Gooding running through trenches between the crowd and the stage. Hopefully <a href=”

This is the best video we’ve found so far from the ?uestlove, John Paul Jones, Ben Harper Super Jam. DAMN! Special shout out to Okayplayer photographer Jamila Sams who fought her way in the photo pit to get shots like this and this. One more from Jamila from the press conference with Lily Allen, James Willett, Warren Hayes, Richard Thompson, David Cross and ?uesto.
Finally, The Philadelphia Expirement (Christian McBride on bass,
Uri Cane on keys, ? on drums) reunited for a 2:30am Sunday morning jam marking their third show ever and the first time playing together since 2001. WOW. Here are two photos (one | two) from Christopher May. ?uesto posted an early-bird special (4am) in OkayArtist that we missed ourselves.
Shout outs to Jamila Sams, onedrop, and Christopher May for contributing.
And the live music don’t stop! Check out Mos Def ft. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble with their James Brown Tribute compliments of HighVoltage.
