• MASTER OF MEDIUM: I’ve never met Jay Electronica but from what I’ve seen and heard, I get the feeling being called “master” of anything won’t sit comfortably with him. It’s hard to imagine anyone having enough time (and will) in an average day to: write, rap, produce, make videos, graphic design, photograph, web design, make records, and have any sort of personal life. Not to mention doing all these things with taste, style, and seemingly no ego involved. And this is only what we know about Jay so far, having only gotten a taste.

• ETERNAL SUNSHINE: A while back Jay put the song “e.s.o.t.s.m” on his MySpace “just to see the response and people really responded well to it.” Today he posted an intriguing presentation stemming from that…

Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (the pledge)
Produced by Jay Electronica, Mike Chav, & Jon Brion
Words by Jay Electronica
Foreword by Erykah Badu & Just Blaze

available for download on his MySpace (yes, that’s him on the CSS too, don’t ask us how) which can also be found here on FWMJ’s “Rappers I Know” channel on Okayplayer along with a discussion topic for feedback.

• SOON COME: This Act 1 will be followed by two more acts where the final will serve as the release of Jay’s debut full length album whose name we can’t report yet.

• GOT THE F*K UP!: Last Friday NYC was treated to a raucous (heh) performance from Pharoahe Monch with his new live band. For those with the desire to download videos from the show, this post is full of them (including recently added YouTube streams). Let’s face it, Pharoahe has a grab bag of classics and bangers (what’s your fave track off Desire?) but nothing gets the crowd going like a “Simon Says” with live band!

• NEW ISHT!

VIDEO: Strange Fruit Project feat. Erykah Badu - Get Live video. There is a reason this post has over 2300 views already.

• AUDIO: Talib Kweli “Hot Thing” produced by Will.i.am.

• OKP EXCLUSIVE: Mr. Lif remix album! Featuring Willie Evans Jr. and Akrobatik, Lif gives us Black Mega, only available in the OkayStore.
