Yesterday I was lucky to sit in as ?uestlove, Al Green, James Poyser and Corinne Bailey Rae made magic in the studio. Of course, I had my camera in hand. Working hard on his new album, Al Green and Corinne Bailey Rae laid down some velvety vocals that will make your toes melt. The new ?uesto-Rich Nichols-James Poyser-produced record is still in the works (obviously) but as soon as we have a street date from Blue Note we’ll let you know.
Juxies, heads up, Aesop Rock has debuted a new track from his upcoming album, None Shall Pass. The track, entitled “Citronella,” is the b-side to new single “Coffee” featuring indie rock outfit The Mountain Goats’ lead singer John Darnielle. We can’t wait for the full album, in stores August 28th. Peep the tour dates to see when Aesop hits a city near you!
Lupe Fiasco let it be known that his sophmore album, The Cool is being pushed back from October 30 to November 20. Lupe is also hoping to create a full album with Kanye West and Pharrell Williams as the group CRS (Child Rebel Soldiers).
