The band behind Amy Winehouse’s success, Brooklyn’s own Dap Kings of Dap Tone Records, have a lot going on. In addition to working with Winehouse and Mark Ronson, the Dap Kings introduce you to their own #1 soul lady, Ms. Sharon Jones. Then watch as they take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of their studio. The rumor mill reports that some of the Daps were in the studio to work on the Al Green record too!
Floetry stepped out in Chicago, introducing a new look with Amanda Diva taking the place of former “floacist” Natalie Stewart. Although the details surrounding the band’s line-up change aren’t clear, one thing is certain, the “new” Floetry fronted by Marsha Ambrosius and Ms. Diva, is sounding as groovy as ever.

Columbia/Legacy has just released a new Miles Davis album, featuring Santana, entitled Evolution of The Groove. The record also contains a remix of “Freedom Jazz Dance” featuring Nas rapping alongside his pops, Olu Dara, on trumpet.
