Kweli’s #1! Common’s New Video, Kweli & Com AOL 16 Bars, Aesop Rock Album & OKP Interview, New Cons Video.

• Congratulations to Talib Kweli who had a STELLAR first week (in this day and age, all things considered) selling 60K units and debuting at Number 1! (does High School Musical 2 really count?). Common and Kweli holding it down! We’ve still got a few copies left with the little booklet in the OkayStore.

• Speaking of Common, catch the music video for his latest single “Drivin’ Me Wild” feat. Lily Allen as directed by Chris Robinson. What do you think?

• Both Common and Kweli spit vicious freestyles on AOL’s 16 bars, although I think Common’s is much more than 16. I didn’t count.

• Brand new video from our boy Consequence with “Uncle Raheim” featuring D.M.C. and Ali Shaheed. Directed by Rik Cordero & Consequence.

• Yesterday saw the release of Aesop Rock’s latest album None Shall Pass on Def Jux Records. Okayplayer gets the exclusive in-depth interview. Better pull up a chair for that one, then tell Aesop how much you love him on his MySpace.

• Have you heard the 4th installment in Guru’s legendary Jazzmatazz series produced by Solar? Well now is your chance. Trust us, you won’t regret it.

• Our girl Candace reviews the “always fresh” Zap Mama with her new album Supermoon. Zap Mama’s all female band is off the hook!

• New photo gallery from Gingerlynn! Ginny Suss captures the monents during The Roots‘ two night stand with Dave Mathews in Wisconsin last weekend.

• New York City, tonight, Joe’s Pub! Come celebrate Sierra Leone with Dry Yai, DJ Reborn, and DJ Spooky and help support an incredible cause.
