Black Thought The Actor, VBS.tv Meets Kanye West, DJ
?uestlove James Brown Tribute, New Music from Panacea, Median, & Santogold.

HOLLYHOOD
• I know, everyone’s headed for Hollywood. But Black Thought’s lead role in Mark Webber’s new film Explicit Ills, currently being shot in Philly, is not his first acting gig. This time around he’s set to appear alongside Rasario Dawson in an independent film about the effects of drugs and poverty and the choices that people make. Since BT is practically exploding with talent and creativity, we’re all happy he’s found another outlet in which to shine! See all of Tariq’s credits on IMDB.com.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES
• Go behind the scenes with Kanye West with VBS.tv and listen to some of the motivation behind the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” vid, directed by Hype Williams. F.Y.I., the Academy Award-nominated director Spike Jonze is the creative director of VBS.

OLD MUSIC
• If you are in the mood to spend this middle-of-the-week-rather-average-Wednesday getting deep with the funk, listen to DJ ?uestlove’s special James Brown DJ set from a gig in Munich, Germany. 2.5 hours of all that FUNK and more!

NEW MUSIC
• Panacea’s new album The Scenic Route dropped yesterday on Rawkus Records, a follow up to last year’s Ink Is My Drink. Listen to it here, and then watch the brand new “Pops Said” music vid, directed by Hilton Carter.

• Oh, you didn’t know? We’ve been peeping Santogold for a minute, Santi’s latest project (formerly of Stiffed) and we’re glad this poster has hipped y’all to her. Whatever the discussion is about, we know that we agree with this comment “she could be doing polka and the songs would still have some bite to them!” Watch the vid for an interview and some live performance action.

• In the Reviews we’ve got Median with Median’s Relief up with 4 ?uesties. The North Carolina MC, also part of the Justus League consisting of Little Brother, The Away Team, Cesar Comanche and others, steps out on his solo with a solid 1st LP, a follow up to his 2005 EP A Path to Relief.

SCRATCH
• What else is there to say? Shorty’s got SERIOUS skills.
