• Hi-Tek reveals that the 3rd installment of his Hi-Teknology series is set for a November release. Hi-Teknology, Vol. 3: Underground will feature guest spots from Talib Kweli, Snoop Dogg, Gorilla Zoe, Estelle (the lovely Brit songstress), and newcomer MC Riz. Billboard also confirms rumors that Hi-Tek and Kwe are recording a follow-up to the duo’s 2000 release Reflection Eternal (Whaa-whoooo!). OKP’s got money down that you’ll be seeing this on the shelves sooner than you think!

• Dead Doom? After a failure to appear at NYC’s Central Park NYC-Tokio festival, rumors spread like wildfire that M.F. Doom was ill, in the hospital… or maybe even 6 feet under. Stonesthrow deads the dead rumors. Doom, reached by phone yesterday morning, answered “What up? I’m dead.”

• The Roots x B.B. King x Trey Anastasio? Yep, handle hips us to this rarity from the IMAX movie All Access: Front Row. Backstage. Live! The film has yet to be released to the public and the soundtrack was a promotional-only item given away by Verizon at isolated events. Watch The Roots, B.B. and Trey tear up a version of “Rock Me Baby.”

• MTV News talks to Timbaland who got the call (finally) from Jay-Z to do some American Gangster work. Read the full interview for more Tim. (Incidentally the Gangster album cover has leaked, but this is all unconfirmed.)

• NYC, next Thursday its DJ ?uestlove and Cosmo Baker @ Love. Then on Friday The Roots hit up the Nokia for the VH1 Hip Hop Honors Tour with Big Daddy Kane and MC Lyte. Two shows, one at 8:00pm, one at Midnight, get your tix now.
