HIP HOP HONORS INVASION!
We have more recap from the HHH Tour stop in Philly and Black Thought’s birthday show Wednesday. Gingerlynn blesses us with a little photo gallery and blog from the night. (Usually she takes more flicks but she was tour managing) Skillz hits us with his blog entry. This man has paid dues, but he might be the luckiest rapper alive.
Speaking of lucky, those with tickets for either show tonight are in for a treat. Not just because The Roots and friends bust out classic after classic while demonstrating the highest level of talent and showmanship in the business, but also because it’s the night after VH1 recorded their 4th Hip Hop Honors show and there are mad rappers in town. Don’t ask who the surprise guests will be, we don’t know! (We don’t think THEY even know) Don’t ask which show will be better. They will both be great in their own right. One thing is for sure, there are still a few tickets left for the late show.
Heads up! Ginger will have a film crew on hand tonight and is taking questions from fans for potential use in interviews.
As we were saying, last night was the taping for The 4th Annual Hip Hop Honors show on VH1. Be sure to catch it on October 8th, hosted by Tracy Morgan. This year’s show will honor A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg, WHODINI, Missy Elliot, and Teddy Riley and Andre Harrell for New Jack Swing as well as a tribute to the seminal hip hop film “Wild Style”. VH1 will once again pay tribute to the hip hop luminaries who broke new ground and pioneered the genre into a true cultural phenomenon and will feature performances by this year’s honorees, along with Ciara, Eve, Pharrell Williams, The Game, T.I., Timbaland, Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, Common, T-Pain, Keyshia Cole and Nick Cannon as well as an appearance by Chris Rock.

Manhattan, “DJs Make Your Junk Shake!” with Team Facelift, Benny Blanco (Bangers and Cash) and more. Brooklyn, it’s gonna be wild with M.O.P., Game Rebellion, Lordz Of Brooklyn and The Nillaz.
