Kweli Rap City, American Gangster Snippets, Little Brother Photos, Common Hits TRL, Jean Grae Flashback.

• Yesterday Kweli recorded 4 episodes of Rap City featuring appearances from Common, Hi Tek, Pete Rock, Madlib, Strong Arm Steady, Jean Grae, and 9th Wonder. On the show featuring Tek, the duo confirm (once again) that a follow up to their classic Reflection Eternal Train Of Thought IS in the works! While that is GREAT news, be prepared to keep on the wait… it will be some time before we see an actual release.

• Speaking of waiting, we’ve only got a few more weeks until the release of Jay-Z’s American Gangster (Nov. 6). Listen to snippets of the entire album and get geeked. It’s got that classic Hova sound and swagger, ripe for the Boombox. What do you think?

• Unfortunately The Roots The Illadelphonics won’t be rockin with Jay-Z as the backing band on his AG tour. ?uesto breaks down the communication breakdown. Blame the celly… this never woulda happened if you’d stuck with the two-way.

• Missed Little Brother in NYC? Copped Get Back but you just can’t get enough? Big Mel hooks up a photo gallery from the recent show at the Highline ballroom. Dap to Mel for these fresh flicks.

• This Thursday tune in to MTV’s TRL (shout out to Amy Starr) for some Common sense. The show will also feature Run DMC’s Reverend Run.

• Flashback! Watch Jean Grae MURdering it in Switzerland in ‘04, with Crazy DJ Bazarro. Daayum, she’s spitting Chinese-stars and numb-chucks up in here. Flashfoward! Jean has recently been throughout New England taping what is sure to be another classic (see C-Rayz Wallz) episode of MTV’s reality show, Made.

• PHILLY, tomorrow night it’s the Black Lily Film and Music Festival’s 2nd annual Bloom fundraiser. That’s right, a full night of masquerade and performances, in addition to their auction where YOU (yep, YOU) could WIN A DATE with the stunning songstress (and one-half of The Jazzyfatnastees) Tracey Moore. It really doesn’t get much better than this. Make sure your pockets are full because we promise this lady will elicit some high bids!

• Brooklyn, help save Triple Crown! One of our fave local spots is going through some tough times, getting shut down due to complaints about bar clientele and “that loud hip-hop music.” This Sunday come show your support for their “petition party” during the afternoon. I heard party!!
