If you do the Christmas (like me) then Merry Christmas Eve. Otherwise, Merry Monday December 24th. Either way, the air of the Holiday Season is about and with it; love, giving, sharing, and such. Around this time of year, we at okayplayer have come to expect a present from Skillz with his annual “Rap Up.” This year the suspense grows with Skillz’ daughter being quoted as stating she is actually scared for her pops getting beat up over some of the things he says in this one (LOL). The 2007 year-end banger was produced by Bink (check his long list of credits on Wikipedia) and according to Skillz will be premiered on New Year’s Eve. More info to follow. For now, we conclude our Rap Up Round Down Count Up thing with the one that started it all:

As we continue on in the Holiday Spirit, last we heard from him, tomorrow is the day Jay Electronica day will unveil the follow up to his instant cult classic “Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)” with “Act II: Patents of Nobility.” The second act of three reportedly will include 10 tracks featuring production from Jay himself, Madlib, Mr. Porter, Hi-Tek, Beat Autopsy, as well as guest appearances from Nas and Guilty Simpson as well as videos totaling 200MB of high-rap-art goodness. As soon as we get word of a laink, we will post here.

The music industry is asleep but the blogosphere never rests. Most of us are on a well deserved break but we will be updating the home page periodically throughout the rest of the year.
