Lupe Fiasco recently wrapped up a tour with a show at NYC’s Nokia Theater where the homie BigMell was on hand to snap some flicks (scroll down a few galleries). If you were at any of the shows, you couldn’t have helped but to notice the beautiful Nikki-Jean (of Nouveau Riche) singing back-up. She also joins Lupe and Bishop G for their song “Little Weapon” off The Cool. Listen the the album cut below and check the decent YouTube clip from their other NYC show at Irving Plaza.

Little Brother’s Big Pooh is reportedly pairing up with producer Young RJ to begin work on a new project. Young RJ has produced the last three Slum Village records, and worked with Dwele, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck to name a few. Although admittedly from very different musical backgrounds, the two are excited for what they will come together to create. While you wait for that, watch Little Brother right now in this video promo for Black History Month for Nickelodeon’s The-N Network.
In the latest issue of Complex Magazine Erykah Badu shares her thoughts on some commonly held male opinions. We are 100% feeling all of Ms. Badu’s answers on this one! After you watch E’s video for “Honey” one more time, compare the original album covers held up next to Erykah’s versions. Our fave, of course, is the Ohio Players spoof.
Yesterday Rapster Records dropped a new compilation album Controversy, which, you guessed it, is a tribute to the Purple One. A full album of Prince covers with a wide range of artists including songs from Soulwax, Osunlade, and D’Angelo. Listen to D’s version of “She’s Always In My Hair” and feel the magic.

Although yesterday’s Democratic primaries yielded uncertain results, with Hill and Obama remaining neck-and-neck for the nomination, neither having gained enough delegates to proclaim a real edge in this race, we’re still hopeful that Obama will pull through in the end. As you know, we’ve still got a bunch of states who haven’t yet cast their votes! For now, check out Hip-Hop 4 Obama and while you’re in there peep Davey D’s blog.

Yes it’s true, Randy Watson’s own James Poyser <a href=”http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=3&topic_id=166091&mesg_id=166091&page=

For some throw-back Poyser, peep this video of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, the first time Jeff ever dj’d “live” on TV. Pause at the 2 minute mark and get a glimpse of JP with hair!
