Dallas Texas is the place to be tonight where Erykah rings in New Amerykah with a festive old school Midnight release party & album signing at the legendary Bills Records and Tapes, the largest independent record store in Dallas. The first 100 attendees will receive complimentary tickets to Badu’s CD Release Listening Party and Jam Session at the House of Blues tomorrow night. Wednesday night, Badu family, Q-Tip, and 9th Wonder throw down for charity at Ghostbar. Now that’s how you do it! Read the press release.

The Roots were busy in NYC this weekend. First were two sold out shows at the Apollo in Harlem on Friday. Check out these great photos from the night courtesy of BigMell as well as these quality shots from a fan. On Saturday the Legendary linked up with Rik Cordero and shot a video for “75 Bars” and again with the hustling video director on Sunday to shoot “Get Busy” featuring Dice Raw and Peedi Crakk. Former Badu boo Andre 3000 has launched his own brand of clothing called Benjamin Bixby. The collection features 70 items of prep style clothing, including fedora hats, assorted waistcoats and pink sweatshirts which Andre described as “rebel gentleman” to New York magazine: “There has to be something inventive about it. But not so inventive that it’s a turnoff. So that some of the greats, like Beau Brummell or the Duke of Windsor, would nod and say, ‘Well done’.” You already know that Andre can currently be seen on the big screen opposite Will Ferrell in the comedy “Semi-Pro.”
