• Politics is really what’s up in Hip-Hop these days and it’s about time. Rhymefest puts together a nice vid of him working on his new album El Che and being an international spokesman for hip-hop. Rhymefest’s album is scheduled to drop this spring and is named after Argentinian revolutionary (and Fests’ namesake) Che Guevara (yeah the guy on your trendy t-shirts). The video has the likes of Common, Kanye West, Pharrell and Lil’ Jon all working in the studio with him, and if his recently released Man in the Mirror mixtape is at all an indicator of what’s to come this should be a real hot album.
• Philadelphia, this year’s Black Lily Film & Music Festival, spearheaded by The Jazzeefatnasties‘ Mercedes Martinez and Tracey Moore, takes place May 1 - 4.
